 Icons are sacred images. Sacred because they portray the image of a Holy person or a holy event that took place in time. The iconographer/artist has been blessed with a sacred task and approaches his/her work with reverence and humility. The wood the icon is painted on takes one week of preparation, and the image is painted with care, calmness and prayer. Real gold leaf is applied and then the finished piece is varnished. Great care and time is put into each piece creating a uniqueness beyond the norm. When you own a hand painted icon, you own something special and sacred. Please inquire through the contact page for pricing. The standard sizes for a single figure or Mother of God and Christ Child include; 9x12 - 10x12 - 11x14 - 12x16- 16x20 - 18x24. Larger sizes also available for specific projects. (I do not do icons smaller than 9x12) Feast Days and multiple figure icons are on 11x14 and larger only. Smaller does not mean "cheaper". If you are looking for an 8x10 of Pentecost or the Mystical Supper, please consider a laminated print. Small icons are in the status of miniature and take a considerable amount of work. * Pricing does not include shipping, insurance, and handling costs.
